Ruckert’s Store has been the shopping center for Ellison Bay, Wisconsin for more than a century; part grocery store, part hardware and part drugstore. Charles Peterson has imagined it here on a wintry night in the 1950’s when the store would likely have been the only action in town. Gus Klenke crosses over from his garage for a loaf of bread and a bit of friendly conversation.
In 2016, the store was destroyed by an explosion.
